How We Work

A clear, organized approach to remodeling.

A successful renovation requires more than good construction, it requires careful planning, honest communication, and organized project management. At Urban Construction, we guide you through every stage of your project, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.

01

Initial Consultation

We begin by learning about your home, your goals, the problems you want to solve, and the features you would like to include. We also discuss your preferred investment range and anticipated timeline so we can determine the right direction for your project.

02

On-Site Evaluation

Our team visits your property to evaluate the existing space, take measurements, review access and site conditions, and identify potential structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or permitting considerations. For larger or more complex renovations, additional investigation may be required before the final scope can be prepared.

03

Scope And Preliminary Planning

We organize your ideas into a clearly defined project scope. This may include proposed layout changes, finish levels, mechanical improvements, specialty features, and any work that should be completed by architects, engineers, designers, or trade professionals.

04

Detailed Proposal

You receive a written proposal outlining the included work, major materials, allowances, exclusions, payment schedule, and anticipated construction process. We review the proposal with you and answer questions before moving forward. Our goal is to establish clear expectations before construction begins.

05

Design And Material Selections

We help coordinate the selections needed for your project. Finalizing selections early helps reduce delays and allows the project to move more efficiently.

  • Flooring and tile
  • Cabinets and countertops
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Lighting and electrical features
  • Doors, trim, and hardware
  • Paint colors and wall finishes
  • Specialty features and built-ins
06

Plans, Permits, And Preconstruction

When required, we coordinate with the appropriate architects, engineers, trade professionals, and local authorities to prepare the project for construction. Permit requirements and review times vary based on the property, municipality, and project scope. Before work begins, we confirm the construction schedule, site access, material availability, and other important project details.

07

Construction And Project Coordination

Once construction begins, Urban Construction coordinates the trades, materials, inspections, scheduling, and day-to-day progress of the project. We provide regular progress updates and communicate important decisions as the work moves forward.

  • Site protection and preparation
  • Demolition
  • Structural work and framing
  • Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
  • Required inspections
  • Insulation and drywall
  • Cabinetry, flooring, and tile
  • Painting and finish carpentry
  • Fixtures, hardware, and final details
08

Changes And Additional Work

Renovations can sometimes reveal concealed conditions or inspire new ideas. If the scope changes, we document the additional work and associated cost through a written change order before proceeding whenever practical. This process helps keep project decisions, pricing, and expectations clear.

09

Quality Review And Final Walkthrough

As construction nears completion, we inspect the work and prepare a final completion list. We then walk through the finished project with you, review any remaining items, and explain relevant features or care instructions.

Enjoy Your Transformed Space

Our goal is to deliver a space that looks intentional, functions beautifully, and feels like a natural extension of your home.
