Our Kitchen Remodeling Process

Careful planning before the first cabinet is removed.

01

Discovery And Existing-Kitchen Review

We learn what is not working, how you use the kitchen, what you want to keep, and the style and investment level you prefer. Measurements and existing plumbing, electrical, ventilation, and structural conditions are reviewed.

02

Layout Development

We plan appliance locations, cabinetry, islands, walkways, storage, lighting, seating, and connections to surrounding rooms. Structural or architectural input is arranged when walls or major openings are involved.

03

Cabinetry And Finish Selections

Cabinet style, finish, hardware, countertops, backsplash, sink, faucet, appliances, lighting, flooring, and paint are coordinated into one design direction.

04

Proposal And Preconstruction

We finalize the scope, allowances, exclusions, schedule expectations, permits, and material orders. Cabinet lead times and appliance specifications are confirmed before demolition whenever possible.

05

Demolition And Rough Work

The existing kitchen is removed as specified. Framing changes and electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and ventilation work are completed, followed by required inspections.

06

Installation And Finishing

Drywall and surfaces are prepared, then cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, flooring, fixtures, appliances, lighting, painting, and trim are installed in sequence.

07

Final Walkthrough

We inspect doors, drawers, hardware, fixtures, finishes, and completed details with you before project closeout.

Investment Planning

What does a kitchen remodel cost?

As an early planning guide, a complete kitchen remodel generally requires an investment of approximately $45,000 to $150,000+. Smaller kitchens that retain the existing layout may remain closer to the lower end.

Large kitchens with layout changes, custom cabinetry, premium appliances, structural openings, specialty countertops, and extensive electrical or plumbing work can exceed the range.

Because cabinetry, appliances, and finish selections significantly affect the total, Urban Construction develops final pricing after reviewing the space, layout, and desired specifications.

Kitchen Remodeling FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

Can you remove a wall to open the kitchen?+

Possibly. We first determine whether it is load-bearing and whether utilities run through it. Structural changes may require engineering and permits.

Do I need to select appliances before cabinets are ordered?+

Yes. Exact appliance specifications help ensure cabinetry, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and clearances are properly planned.

Can I remain at home during the renovation?+

Often, yes, but the kitchen will be unavailable for significant periods. We discuss dust control, access, working hours, and temporary-kitchen options before construction.
